Gees, number 16! When will this madness end???? 4 weeks time again, this time on the 1st of May. One small change tho (as of last LAN), getting pizza for $5 each is pretty much impossible, so we are pushing the cost up to $14 from $12 to cover that, hall hire, and improvements in the setup (how nice was it to have some decent power boards to plug into?)

With the release a couple of weeks ago of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I reakon it’s a safe idea we’ll be playing a lot of that. Assuming that we don’t have issues with people who’s login details aren’t saved in Steam, I’m guess we’ll try for some TF2 again, but to run that, you’ll need to have bought it through Steam in advance. Same goes for Left 4 Dead for those who like Zombies (yawn). Going on last time, I’d expect some more CoD:WaW or CoD4 at the very least, and naturally I’m sure we’ll break out the Flatout 2 again. And it was a nice end to the night to bust out some old school Joint Operations again last LAN.

The hall for the uneducated is out at Salisbury, check the map for the location. You HAVE to follow the red arrows this time as the road has been dug up from the opposite direction.

P.S. NOT an April fools Day prank. :P

Howdy folks

Woot!  Number 15!  For awhile I didn’t think 14 was going to happen, but a nice little influx of players mid afternoon had us quite an enjoyable LAN.  4 weeks time again, this time on the 27th of June. One small change tho, getting pizza for $5 each is pretty much impossible, so we are pushing the cost up to $14 from $12 to cover that, hall hire, and improvements in the setup (how nice was it to have some decent powerboards to plug into?)

Assuming that we don’t have issues with people who’s login details aren’t saved in Steam, I’m assuming we’ll try for some TF2 again, especially since many more people have it with the last few cheap weekends, but to run that, you’ll need to have bought it through Steam in advance. Same goes for Left 4 Dead for those who like Zombies (yawn). Going on last time, I’d expect some more CoD:WaW or CoD4 at the very least, and naturally I’m sure we’ll break out the Flatout 2 again. Well unlucky 13th LAN was a fail due to the stupid weather, so its time to fire up for the next instead. Its early in the year. This time we’ve booked the hall for the 4th of April, so in theory, 3 weeks.  Same deal as normal, $12 entry, covering hall hire, pizza for dinner, and improvements in our setup.

There is the possibility of Guitar Hero: World Tour being fired up again if it is still available for our use.

Bah. The bad luck 13th thing caught up. Due to the heat we’ve had not really abating that much, we are pulling the pin for Saturday, if only the change would hit a day or two earlier. Sorry to those pumped up for it. We’ll aim for a replacement LAN in March hopefully.

So this time it’s a bit riskier. It’s the 13th LAN. Its early in the year. Such drama, but despite that, time to do it all again!  This time I’ve booked the hall for the 7th of February, so in theory, 3 weeks.  Same deal as normal, $12 entry, covering hall hire, pizza for dinner, and improvements in our setup.

Thanks to, well, us (the Games On Net guys), we’ll have a retail copy of Guitar Hero World Tour set up for you guys to play on the day.

Due to the venue, and me being away, we can’t set up a projector though. Thanks to Acaila, we do have a fairly decent sized screen to run it on. If you have a projector and free standing screen that you don’t mind donating, feel free. We’re not going to stop you ;)

Would love to join you guys, but I’ll be in Brisbane on the day. Have fun!

I really should change this general announcement each time so it doesn’t look as obviously cut and pasted, but lets face it, I haven’t got the time!

Time to do it all over again with a big cut and paste altho for once I’ll add some new content. I’ve spoken to the powers that be and the hall is booked for the 22nd of November. So roughly 4 weeks away! Kick off about 10:30 in the morning and go through till when ever everyone is done. This is generally sometime AM. We’ll be charging $12, that’s $5 per person for the hall, then the rest goes towards pizza and improving the network setup.

Here is where I change the normal email cause well, lets face it, the games have certainly changed a fair bit.  Personally, I’ll certainly be up for TF2, but to run that, you’ll need to have bought it through Steam in advance, but many of the other games wont have this type of issue. Going on last time, I’d expect some more CoD4 at the very least, and naturally I’m sure we’ll break out the Flatout 2 again. But November is a funny month this year for gamers, so I’m expecting to see a fair bit of new stuff happening.  Far Cry 2 came out yesterday, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead. Hell, there are even rumours of Guitar Hero: World Tour being fired up for those eager. So the range of games this time around is pretty exciting.

Time to do it all over again with a big cut and paste. I’ve spoken to the powers that be and the hall is booked (I hope!) for the 10th of May. 4 weeks away! Kick off about 10:30 in the morning and go through till when ever everyone is done. This is generally sometime AM. We’ll be charging $12, that’s $5 per person for the hall, then the rest goes towards pizza and improving the network setup.

Expect some BF2, Joint Ops, CS, ET, FEAR, or pretty much anything anyone suggests. Moose (the BoTM one) wants to have a bit of driving practice, and Blocker is interested in flying things, so might get a little more variety this time.  Just scream out if you have a favourite game you want to fire up. Ooooo, I can add something from the old cut and paste! New material alert, new material alert! In the last 6 months or so there has been a fair bit of new stuff come out. Unfortunately, for some of it I haven’t found “lan work-arounds” but when I own it, I’m not that phased about hunting.  But I’m hoping to play lots of TF2, maybe some CoD4, and then there is other new stuff like Crysis and Quake Wars. Hopefully this time round we can escape BF2 a little more than normal!

Let me know if you are interested. Obviously sooner rather than later is good given the time frame this time.

Any questions, go for it!

We’ve set this up so we can post announcements and the directions and stuff for current and future lans. Considering it’s only just been set up there will be quite a few changes as we go. We’ll keep the forum on the Internode Games Network for now and just use this for information – atm posting is open to all but moderated and we’ll only change it if there’s a lot of traffic.
